Dot Those Walls!

Our twins are freshmen in college, and while our son was only concerned about a good mattress and a desk for his computer, our daughter was anxious for a bedroom that expresses her personality. After investing in the college real estate market by purchasing a condo for them to live in, there wasn’t a lot of cash left over for decorating.

My daughter found a great way to her personal stamp on her bedroom walls. She purchased giant polka dots for one wall. They have an adhesive backing, so you can easily peel them off and reposition them any way you like. You can’t even tell where they’ve been on the wall. She got them in pink, green and black. They also come in plenty of other colors and shapes. You can find them at Lowe’s, where you can six to eight shapes for about $10. It’s a great (and much easier) alternative to wallpaper!

Decorating on a Budget

Do you want your home to look like you ripped it out of the Pottery Barn catalog? Are you hoping to win the lottery so you give your house a new look? Do you think you’ll scream if you have to look at that flowered, avocado green sofa one more day?

Me too. And that’s why I’m writing this blog about easy and inexpensive home decorating. I’m not an interior designer, and I can barely sew a straight seam. And I certainly don’t have a decorator on call. But I’ve always loved to play around with home decorating, and I love the challenge of seeing how cheaply I can do it, but still have a great look!

So, let’s work on our homes together and share ideas! Ready?
